I think the characters at headswillroll-gleerp are spot-on. It seems extremely realistic, and the countdowns and stuff are really awesome!
ooc: I only just noticed this. OMG, now I’m even sadder.
I…hello once more, everyone. It truly has been too long since I’ve seen many of you last.
Rachel. Berry. Oh my God, I thought I had to find a new best friend. You scared me!
Blaine groaned as Kurt pulled out. He hated the sudden emptiness as he reflexively clenched around nothing. He all but fell into Kurt’s arms, leaning his head on Kurt’s shoulder his arms weakly around his waist, enjoying the sensation of being held as he recovered from his orgasm, his legs slightly trembling under the water. “I feel the same way Kurt. I love you so much. And you’re right we are young and if the world was still normal… I mean I’d still dream about the day but… yeah…” he trailed off because Kurt had already said what he thought about it. “If we ever get that luxury back somehow… if we ever get to be normal again… I promise you that I will love you forever. And I won’t ever regret calling you my husband.” He presses a lazy kiss to Kurt’s lips and smiles, pressing their foreheads together.
“I…Kurt that’s… thank you. I want Burt to be proud of me. Just like I want to make you proud. And I am so proud of you too you know. I saw your street that day Kurt. And you had what it took to survive that. I am so proud to call you mine. Not just because of that though. Because of everything you are.” He pressed a kiss to Kurt’s forehead where their heads had been touching. “I wish I could say the same about my dad… but we both know he hated you from day one. And me too really he just wouldn’t admit it to anyone. So we won’t make him proud. We’ll prove him wrong instead. I love you so much.” He moved to hold Kurt closer again, resting his head back on Kurt’s shoulder and breathing in the smell of his skin.
It was different than before. Before, Blaine had been obsessed with Kurt’s cologne. He’s taken the bottle and sprayed a little on his pillow to help him sleep when Kurt wasn’t there. Now was different though. He didn’t smell of cologne. He smelt of life. Of the grimey life they now lived. Dirt and river water and lack of soap. But there underneath it all was the smell that Blaine loved most. That was so inherently Kurt. That he’d reveled in when they lay together in bed after showers and after sex. It was just the smell of Kurt. Of his skin and of comfort and safety. “W-we should probably head back…” he whispered to the otherwise silent river area. “It’s kinda cold in here. We can’t get sick.” He pulled Kurt to the shore and slid out of the water, snatching up his boxers and slipping them on. Kurt’s clothes were drenched from the way he’d thrown them in to try clean off some of the dirt. “Here.” He handed him his own trousers. “I have a spare pair in my supplies. You can wear these back to the camp.” He pulled on his vest top and handed the v-neck t-shirt to Kurt. “Come on you.”
Kurt blushed and smiled, while leaning against Blaine, completely exhausted. “I’ll never regret calling you mine.” He replied softly. “Until I die..” The words didn’t mean to slip so easily, but he couldn’t hold them back. It was scary to think about death, especially because it was closer than ever. But being there with Blaine meant so much to him - it was impossible to not make those promises. He knew Blaine was the love of his life and he wasn’t planning to let him go. Ever. He returned the kiss and blinked a bit sleepily and shook his head. “There’s no need to be proud of me, Blaine. I’ve simply locked myself away in the basement. There’s nothing courageous in that. Today I killed my first zombie..” It was good to hear that Blaine was proud of him, but he didn’t deserve it at all. He had simply hid himself like a scared child and lived on the food that had been stocked up in the basement. It didn’t take much skill to do that.
He tensed up a bit at the mention of Blaine’s father. It wasn’t really a secret that the man had never approved of Blaine’s ‘life choice’, even less of Kurt. Still, he felt bad to know Blaine’s parents were gone. He still couldn’t believe Blaine had to shoot them himself. He was very certain that he would never be able to shoot his own father, not even if he had turned into a monster. He already had trouble taking out zombified people he had never seen in his life. “Yeah.. We’ll prove him wrong.” He replied with a small smile. As Blaine leaned his head on his shoulder, Kurt traced patterns on Blaine’s back with his fingertips. It still felt surreal to be here with his boyfriend after being alone for so long. He didn’t believe in God, but he did consider himself pretty damn lucky to have found Blaine in this chaos. He wasn’t sure how much longer he would have been able to be without him.
He enjoyed just being like this with Blaine. It was like cuddling after sex, only.. wet and surrounded by zombies. He was glad to realize that Blaine still smelled human and very Blaine. He didn’t know how much he had missed that scent until he had closed the boy in his arms on that porch. How much he had missed the feeling of Blaine’s body pressed against his own. Fitting perfectly together. It made it hard to let go, so he couldn’t help the pout he made when Blaine suggested they had to head back to the others. It was for the best, though. They really couldn’t get sick and after they cleared the farmhouse, they would be able to cuddle in a bed. Hopefully.
So he followed Blaine out of the water, dragging his soaking wet clothes with him and scrunching up his nose as he looked at the clothes that were offered to him. He wanted to protest and tell Blaine that he was clean and those clothes were dirty. But he knew that putting on his own clothes would only get him a higher risk of getting sick. So he snatched the trousers from Blaine’s hands and pulled them on, smiling slightly as he noticed how they were a bit too short for him. He wanted to make a comment about Blaine’s short legs, but decided that he was too tired to tease his boyfriend about his height. So he pulled on the T-shirt, that definitively smelled like Blaine, and put his boots back on. “Okay, let’s go.”
Maybe we can suggest that to the others once we’ve fixed up the security here a bit more? The nearest mall is only reachable with the cars and people are reluctant to use the gas, but I’m pretty sure that I would sell my soul for a new pair of underwear if nothing else.
And I love you too babe.
I can’t imagine that no one else wants to have some clean clothes around here. And don’t even start about the underwear, I’m grossed out enough as it is, Blaine..
Oh, good. Yeah, he’ll take good care of you. You guys are really sweet. You’re welcome - and it stays out in the open, as long as you need it.
Get some rest, Kurt. You deserve it.
Yes.. I’m lucky to have found him. Thank you, Quinn. Same goes for you.
You’re strong too Kurt. If you wanted to you could help us take down the barn after you get some sleep… The alarm’s important too though, so don’t you dare put yourself down okay? You’re amazing Kurt.
You look a lot better than I do, swinging that axe around. I’m not amazing, but I’ll keep myself busy with the creative stuff, rather than throwing myself at zombies. Though I wish we could raid a mall or something. Then I obviously need to join to make sure I get the right clothes. I don’t trust anyone with that task. Love you, though.
Do you want someone to stay with you? Sleep is important, Kurt. You can’t be strong when you’re exhausted. I’m sure Beth wouldn’t mind staying with me while I sat with you so you can get some sleep.
Blaine offered to stay with me so I can sleep. I think I will try that. Thank you for the offer, though. I appreciate it. You just enjoy being reunited with Beth, okay? I’ll be fine, Quinn.
